Description
Linbeck worked closely with Tsoi Kobus Design (TKD) to bring advanced cancer technology to Cincinnati Children’s through their new proton therapy center. The two-story concrete structure includes four proton therapy treatment rooms, a cyclotron vault, and linear accelerator, and features vibrant colors that make even the youngest patients feel at ease. Knowing the unique demands of proton therapy construction, Linbeck coordinated with multiple engineers, our European-based equipment vendor, and various physicists, hospital user groups, and health safety officials to ensure the new facility was in line with Cincinnati Children’s vision. Through the innovative use of prefabrication, BIM technologies, and quality control processes, Linbeck was able to achieve a high level of precision and deliver a hospital that continues to rank as one of the best in the nation.
