Description
Built in 1984, the 1600 Smith tower is one of Houston’s most recognizable high rises. Since its completion, the towering office building has gone by several different names, including Continental Center I and Cullen Center Plaza. However, today its original moniker is what remains: 1600 Smith. The structural steel building rises 55 stories high and represents a significant moment in Houston building history, when the city–and downtown in particular–were seeing incredible growth and change. As part of the monumental project, Linbeck also constructed a 1,070,000 GSF parking garage, fit to accommodate approximately 3,000 vehicles.
