Description
Bass Performance Hall is one of the most recognizable features of the Fort Worth downtown landscape. Home to the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Texas Ballet Theater, Fort Worth Opera, and Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and Cliburn Concerts, the 10-story structure gracefully mimics the traditions of great European performance halls, while simultaneously standing out as a modern performance venue for its resident companies. The building’s grandiose design is enhanced by two 48-foot-tall sculpted angels along its exterior–each holding 16-foot long, gold-leafed trumpets–and an interior that boasts a hand-crafted dome, proscenium arch, 2,200-seat multipurpose hall, and series of fresco murals, grand staircases, and relief sculptures.
