Description
The Fort Worth New City Hall project converted the former Pier 1 Imports Corporate Headquarters into a modern city hall for the City of Fort Worth. This expansion and renovation project creates a central hub for Fort Worth residents by bringing nearly all municipal departments under one roof. The project also includes the addition of a new Council Chambers building, featuring world-class acoustical technology. The tower renovations contain flexible floor plans for more than 23 city departments and house more than 600 employees. The new Council Chambers features a theater-style room, with 250 fixed seats and is equipped with sound amplification capacities via wireless and wired microphones, broadcast capabilities, and interactive software displays at each of the city council seats. The two-story lobby includes a media room and workroom for all to use prior to council meetings. Along with renovating the tower and new council chambers, the project also includes a parking garage to accommodate the more than 1,400 staff and visitors coming to City Hall.
