Description
Envisioned as the spiritual home for the Archdiocese’s Catholic community, the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart is a towering cast-in-place concrete structure with interior walls that soar 83 to 102 feet high and support an 80,000 lb copper-clad dome over the altar. The breathtaking downtown sanctuary, dressed in gold leaf, is large enough to seat more than 2,000 worshipers and features a 137 ft-tall bell tower, 5,000 SF of stained glass fabricated in Italy and Germany, more than 40 pieces of specially commissioned art and liturgical furnishings, and sophisticated acoustical technology and audio/visual systems that give the parish flexibility while preserving the sanctity of the space.
