Description
The Agriculture and Business Multipurpose Building is a four-story multi-disciplinary building that sits at the core of Prairie View A&M University. Boasting a U-shaped configuration, the glass encased structure supports the school’s agriculture and business programs and is threaded with bright community spaces that promote student interaction and engagement. Outside of its unique classrooms, laboratories, and business trading floor, the structure also features a 400-seat auditorium that overlooks existing oaks trees facing “The Hill”–a favorite gathering spot for students on campus. It is through these design details that the building helps anchor university tradition. Preserving the existing oak trees was a key consideration when constructing the new academic facility. Through significant coordination, Linbeck was able to protect the trees and effectively marry the new building with a mature part of campus.
