Description
The Brochstein Pavilion is one of Rice University’s main social hubs on campus. Outfitted with a kitchen servery and cafe, the pavilion acts as both a local eatery and center for studying, relaxing, and socializing for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Unlike its Mediterranean Revival-style neighbors, Brochstein Pavilion’s architectural design is uniquely modern and symmetrical, with floor-to-ceiling windows, a 14-foot-wide aluminum trellis, and open floor space that invites collaboration and enhances traffic flow inside. Outside, Brochstein Pavilion carries on the dining experience with a landscape and hardscape that includes live oak trees, pedestrian paths leading to park-like sitting areas, and two integral color fountains nestled within an elm tree grove.
