Description
William T. Cannady Hall is an innovative classroom and exhibition building designed for the Rice School of Architecture. A striking juxtaposition set against the Rice University’s traditional Mediterranean Revival style, the contemporary building is composed of exposed steel and concrete and features a terracotta facade that enhances its sustainable design. Within its walls, Cannady Hall houses bright exhibition spaces, flexible teaching areas, and research and fabrication space. The first level of the building includes a workshop, fabrication shop, and gallery, while the second level includes an additional gallery space, meeting rooms, offices, and an overlook into the workshop below. A new glass skybridge was completed to connect Cannady Hall with the architecture school’s existing MD Anderson Hall.
