Description

The new complex puts Tarleton’s College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at the forefront of educational delivery and hands-on learning. The main building is comprised of six state-of-the-art laboratories for animal and plant science research along with two laboratory preparation spaces and a retail store for farm product display in addition to a sales program. The teaching laboratories address the increasing need to have more space for the growing agricultural departments – anatomy and physiology, genetics, nutrition, horticulture and crop science, and entomology. The facility also includes a covered, open-air livestock area for animals to be observed in an active learning environment. Separate from the livestock and laboratory building, Linbeck constructed a second building to house the planting and greenhouse program, which is comprised of four greenhouses for preparatory, demonstration, testing, and forage gardening space.
