Description
Built in 1925, the Mary Couts Burnett Library effortlessly blends tradition and modernity. While its historic façade inspires a spirit of tradition, the building’s interior boasts bright and open spaces for research and study. The renovation and expansion of the library refreshed the building’s existing wing and added three new stories, providing state-of-the-art technology throughout the building. Today, the historic library houses a large archived collection and features a modern main entrance and bridge that tie into the adjacent Rees-Jones Hall at the ground level and third floor. Following its completion, Mary Couts Burnett Library obtained LEED Silver due to the project team implementing various environmental and sustainable efforts including compliance with environmental regulations and standards, among many other positive environmental tasks.
