Description
The Lancaster Hotel is a recorded Texas Historic Landmark located within Houston’s bustling Theater District. Originally constructed in 1926 as the Auditorium Hotel, the 12-story, Renaissance-style building had remained the preferred destination for visiting performers and entertainers before it fell into disrepair and lost its luster. In the late 1970s, the owner commissioned Linbeck to perform the first major hotel restoration in Houston, with the intent of bringing the building back to its former glory. After five years of planning, value engineering, and construction, the Lancaster Hotel debuted in Houston. The new boutique hotel reincorporated the building’s high design finishes and brought back elements of high-polished brass, Italian marble, custom furniture, and custom millwork. The project was completed on time and within budget.
