Description
The new Community and Rural Health Center addresses the public health challenges faced by Northeast Texas, serving as a model for wellness and community education. Focused on promoting healthy lifestyles, the center will provide ongoing education to the community on key public health issues and serve as a hub for research, service, and outreach. This three-story building is the first free-standing academic facility on campus and serves as the home for The University of Texas Health Science Center’s School of Community and Rural Health. The center includes modern classrooms, research spaces, offices, and collaborative areas, with shell space for future program expansion. A central courtyard adds a tranquil space for relaxation, fostering an environment conducive to both health and learning.
