Description
The Campus Landscape Enhancement Program breathed new life into the University of Texas at Dallas. Led by world-renowned landscape architect Peter Walker and Partners, the project addressed nine areas of the campus, extending from the campus core to the perimeters in all directions. Included within the beautification project were new pedestrian promenades, significant groves of canopy trees, heavy understory ornamental trees, ground cover and sod, creek enhancements, signage/entryways at key arteries to campus, lighting, artwork, and outdoor amenities. Encompassing more than 100 acres, the program required more than 1,300 new trees to meet the specifications for matching vegetative materials. To accomplish this, Linbeck incorporated multiple tree sources and invited representatives from the university and landscape architect to each nursery to identify the new trees for campus.
