Description
The Sciences Building added the needed space for Physics and Space Sciences, while increasing critical classroom spaces on the University of Texas at Dallas’ growing campus. Designed for cross-departmental collaboration, the six-story building is used by the Physics Department, Mathematical Sciences Department, and other university programs. Architecturally, the academic and research facility complements the modern aesthetics of the existing campus and includes classrooms, laboratories, collaboration spaces, offices, and the UTeach program. It also features 150- and 300-seat lecture halls, a grab-and-go food court, and an open courtyard with green space and seating areas. The modern facility, aimed at fostering sustainability and conservation efforts, was awarded LEED Gold certification following its completion.
